I had a Zyliss cord spinner that worked for me for what seemed like forever. In fact I was telling myself and the spinner who was probably listening how unusual it was to have had no trouble with such heavy use for over fifteen years. Well, that was the night that the spinner cord mechanism broke. I thought I could open it up and do a DIY, but the thing was made so well that taking it apart wasn't going to happen. So I went online and ordered another cord spinner. I am not a fan of the lever spinners, they don't achieve the speed I want and they're unstable--that's for me. I know they're preferred by many. The cord spinner that arrived is a newer model and I was hoping there were interchangeable parts, but no. These are powerful well made salad spinners that work on all sorts of leafy things. I've done everything but dry my clothes in them. I love them. My only criticism would be that they can't be fixed at home and that the parts aren't interchangeable. But fifteen years had elapsed. I'm going to have to forgive them for improving the model. And it is improved. It's faster the capacity is a bit greater and its easier to balance the contents for a frictionless spin. Go get one.
